ROCKFORD (AP) -- A Kent County man who fired his 12-gauge shotgun at toilet-paper pranksters has been placed on probation for a year. Mark Kuncaitis pleaded no contest Wednesday to recklessly discharging his firearm outside his home last month in Solon Township, north of Grand Rapids.

The 51-year-old was accused of firing at five people who were 60 yards away. A 14-year-old boy was hit with six pellets, but his injuries were not life-threatening. Kuncaitis believed someone was trying to break into his garage. He has said he didn't know the group was toilet-papering his property.

The injured teen, two other juveniles and two adults have been charged with trespassing.
