Bagpipes played at the Swartz Creek Veterans Memorial where a brand new Navy statue stands. It was dedicated at Tuesday’s ceremony and joins a bronze Army statue.

The community is currently collecting month to purchase 3 additional statues to represent the Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard. The statues cost $29,000 a piece. They have a good start towards the next statue including a check presented by Messiah Lutheran Church, in Swartz Creek, for $1,100, raised from the Church’s 50th Anniversary celebration.
