(AP) -- GAYLORD - The National Weather Service says up to a foot of snow could fall along Lake Michigan in the northwestern Lower Peninsula. Snow was falling across much of the state Sunday afternoon, and the weather service's Gaylord office says lake effect snow will fall in parts of western Michigan through Monday morning. The agency says the highest totals are likely in Antrim, Charlevoix, Crawford, Kalkaska and Otsego counties, where up to a foot of snow could fall near Lake Michigan.
Chippewa County in the eastern Upper Peninsula and Emmet and Cheboygan counties in northernmost lower Michigan are expected to get up to 8 inches. In southwestern Michigan, the weather service predicts up to 6 inches of snow will fall in Berrien County.
