The NBC25 Weather Garden may have fallen silent under the snow, but that doesn’t mean you have to stop learning about gardening. Lapper County MSU Extension is hosting a 12 week class that will help you develop a greener thumb. The classes take place every Saturday starting January 17 and running for 12 weeks.
Topics that will be included in the classes are:
- Plant Science
- Soil Science
- Flowers
- Vegetables
- Lawn Care
- Houseplants
- Trees
- Home Fruit production
- Diagnostics
- Plant Health
- Wildlife
- Household Pests
The deadline to register is December 31 and the cost is $275 for the program, which includes the cost of the large reference book that’s full of information. If you wish to become a true Certified Master Gardener, you’ll be required to fulfill 40 hours of community service along with the class. Applications and further information is available online at www.msue.msu.edu/lapeer.
And, when the snow thaws and spring returns to Mid-Michigan, make sure to tune into NBC25 for the Weather Garden with Master Gardener Mark Toregrossa.
