(AP) -- ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. - Rochester Hills is taking aim at the city's deer population. The Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News report City Council voted 5-2 Monday to allow the Oakland County sheriff's department to kill deer in the city's wooded areas in an effort to curb deer-vehicle collisions. The culling will be done early next year by snipers, who couldm kill as many as 200 of the city's estimated 1,000 deer. Proponents say it will be safe to city residents. But some fear the shootings will be too close to neighborhoods in the Detroit suburb.
