The Big Boy restaurant in Downtown Grand Blanc won’t be serving hungry customers for awhile. A fire in the stockroom broke out early Wednesday morning. Police saw smoke in the building around 3:30am and contacted the fire department.
Grand Blanc Fire Chief, Jim Harmes, said the building suffered a lot of damage "The loss is going to be extensive because the smoke and heat damage throughout the building."
Owner, Bob Sophiea, pledges “We're going to get this figured out and get it back quickly."
The same building had a fire three and a half years ago. On Tuesday, the Grand Blanc Big Boy was awarded the “President’s Award.”
