It’s been nearly 5 months since Bay City Entrepreneur, Arthur P. Dore, was accused of physically abusing his girlfriend of 11 years. On Friday, he was found not guilty by a jury in Bay County District Court.

The event that brought about the charges took place on June 26 in Freeland. Dore took the stand saying that he did hit his girlfriend, but only in self-defense, and that she had been physically abusive to him previously.  He stated that she became enraged after seeing him speaking with another woman and yelled at and punched him while he was driving his Hummer. He testified that he didn’t mean to hurt her and was unaware of any injuries she may have received.

Dore was pulled over by police after he dropped her off at her home. He was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence.
