In the midst of the country’s economic woes, there is positive news coming from one of Michigan’s largest automotive dealerships. The Al Serra Auto Plaza finished Number One in Sales in the entire nation last month for Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Hummer.
The solid performance of the long-time Grand Blanc dealership was one of the few bright spots in dismal month for the auto industry. “We are keeping our inventory up, pushing incentives, and staying aggressive,” said Denny Dunfield, Al Serra Auto Plaza General Manager. “Everyone at the Auto Plaza has been doing an outstanding job and our customers are responding.”
Dunfield also credits the dealership’s long standing no-haggle, no-pressure policy, which helps car buyers feel more at ease and comfortable in the showroom. Belief that the Al Serra Auto Plaza can continue to build on its momentum was bolstered this past week when the dealership announced that they will allow their customers to defer payments for 90 days on new vehicles. This move will help keep sales up through the end of the year.
“For people who are in the new car market, this is a great opportunity and it’s only available at Al Serra,” says Dunfield. “Customers can take advantage of lower prices on our 2009s and remaining 2008s, without making a payment until spring.”
In addition to having success with new cars sales, the Al Serra Auto Plaza is also moving its used inventory. “There’s light at the end of the tunnel,” says Dunfield. “We have had near-record sales months back-to-back in our used car department and we’re still going strong. Considering all that’s been going on, here at the Al Serra Auto Plaza, we have a lot to be thankful for.”
The Al Serra Auto Plaza includes Al Serra Chevrolet, Al Serra Buick-GMC-Pontiac, Al Serra Cadillac-Hummer, Honda of Grand Blanc and Nissan of Grand Blanc. All of these franchises are part of the Serra Automotive network, which currently consists of 22 dealerships across the country and employs more than 1,500 people.
