The struggling economy has forced more Mid-Michigan families into need this holiday season. It’s the reason why the Salvation Army of Genesee County added additional dates to accept applications for Christmas assistance.

For those who still need to apply for help with food and toys this holiday season, you can do so on December 3, 5 & 5 from 9am until 3pm. At the Salvation Army’s Kearsley Street or Coldwater Road offices. On Friday, December 5 the hours will be extended at the Coldwater location until 7pm.

Already close to 1,000 families in Genesee County have applied for Christmas Assistance.

You can also sign up for Misfit Toys for Girls and Boys. NBC25 and ProAuctions have teamed up to collect previously owned toys and distribute them to children for Christmas. For details visit the Misfit Toys for Girls and Boys page.
