NEW BUFFALO TWP., MI. (AP) -- Police have discovered the body of a missing northern Indiana woman in a wooded area of far southwestern Michigan near the border of the two states.
Berrien County sheriff's deputies and New Buffalo police identified the body found Wednesday night as that of 35-year-old Donna Mae Maximenko of Mishawaka, Ind. The city is near South Bend, Ind. A cause of death hasn't been determined.
Maximenko was reported missing on Friday. Police discovered her vehicle parked behind a motel in Berrien County's New Buffalo Township. A short time later, they found the body about 70 yards away from the vehicle, in an area of trees.
