TRAVERSE CITY, MI. -- The following is a message for Charter Communications, Inc.:
Charter Communications, Inc. announced Monday that its Free Flicks For Food campaign in partnership with the Michigan Harvest Gathering to stock Michigan’s food pantries generated donations of more than 23,000 items, exceeding all expectations.
“Our Free Flicks For Food campaign was overwhelmingly supported by our customers, who donated over 23,000 items of non-perishable food weighing in at over 15,000 pounds,” stated Joe Boullion, Charter’s Vice President and General Manager for Michigan. “We’re proud to work in our Michigan communities and help support Michigan Harvest Gathering, and I want to extend a heartfelt thanks to all our customers who donated food,” Boullion added.
“This generous support from Charter Communications and their customers comes at a good time,” said Jane Marshall, executive director of the Food Bank Council of Michigan. “At a local level, our food banks are seeing up to a 40% increase in the need for food right now. We need all the help we can get, and food donations made through Charter Communications will provide over 15,000 meals for individuals and families in need this holiday season,” Marshall commented.
Charter’s “Free Flicks for Food” program encouraged customers to donate non-perishable food items, and in return, Charter provided coupons redeemable for Charter OnDemand™ and Charter Pay-Per-View™ movies. For every three items of food, customers received 2 movie coupons ($4.99 value per coupon) redeemable for easy access to thousands of movie and show selections, which Charter customers can enjoy from the comfort of their homes.
