FLINT, MI. -- "Here comes Santa Claus" right down Saginaw St. greeting children at the Citizens Bank 71st annual sing a-long.  Friends and family gathered around, singing holiday songs and spreading Christmas cheer.

Santa Claus arrived, greeting children with Christmas Candy Canes, and helping boost the holiday spirit.

The first annual holiday sing a-long began in 1937 by Leo Kangas, a cashier at Citizens Bank.  J.E. Burroughs, bank president at the time, agreed that spreading holiday cheer to the community would help make the season brighter.

Through the years the sing a-long has gone from being led by two female staff members, to the "Girls Glee Club" in the 1950's, and even included Citizens Bank Mixed Choruses.  Today, though, the annual holiday sing a-long features staff members with a brass ensemble.

Staff, community members, and friends hope the Annual Holiday Sing will continue for many years to come.
