LANSING (AP) -- Michigan is looking for a new leader for its main economic development organization.

James Epolito is leaving the Michigan Economic Development Corp.

He will become president at Delta Dental of Michigan.

Gov. Jennifer Granholm confirmed the move Tuesday. Granholm says a search to replace Epolito will begin quickly.

Epolito has been president of the MEDC since late 2005.

The MEDC is a public-private agency with its own board of directors that works closely with other state departments to bring jobs to Michigan.

The search for a new leader of the agency comes as Michigan has the nation's highest unemployment rate.
