DETROIT (AP) -- The FBI is searching the office of a Detroit city contractor who is an ally of former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.
FBI spokeswoman Sandra Berchtold says agents arrived Thursday morning. She didn't know if Bobby Ferguson or anyone else was at the office.
An affidavit supporting the search is sealed in federal court.
Berchtold wouldn't say what agents were looking for or what was removed.
A message seeking comment was left at Ferguson Enterprises.
The FBI with the help of a grand jury is investigating corruption in Detroit city government.
Ferguson's company has done demolition work and other jobs for the city. Kilpatrick is in jail after pleading guilty to obstruction of justice. He left office in September.
