FLINT -- GM is talking with Isuzu about selling the 560 line in Flint, which makes the medium-duty trucks. The deal would protect around 500 jobs at the Flint Truck Assembly Plant.
A GM worker told NBC25 the auto company had been unsure what would happen to the 560 production line. This move, however, would secure jobs for the next six years. The employee stated GM would own the production through the end of the year, and Isuzu would rent the space for the following five years. It is believed, Isuzu will retain the current GM employees.
No official decisions have been made. NBC25 will continue to provide coverage on the GM, Isuzu merger.
