MIDLAND (AP) -- A Midland-based Army National Guard unit is expected to return home from active duty in Iraq in June. A Guard spokeswoman says about 130 members of the 1460th Transportation Company were deployed in June 2008. They have worked mainly as guards at Camp Bucca, a prisoner detention facility in the southern Iraqi desert.

The Bay City Times says Michigan currently has about 1,000 Guard members on active duty worldwide.
