FISHERS, IND. (AP) -- Indiana State Police now say that two people died in Tuesday's 31-vehicle pileup on Interstate 69 - not three as police had announced. The agency said Wednesday that the third person reported as deceased was in critical condition at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. That person is 61-year-old Donald E. Hayden of Tecumseh, Mich. His name had not been previously released.
Those who died in the pileup were 27-year-old Dustin R. Goettman and 28-year-old Ryan A. Phillips, both of Anderson, Ind. The crash involving nine semitrailers and 22 other vehicles happened Tuesday morning during a snowstorm on the highway in the northern Indianapolis suburb of Fishers.
