SAGINAW (AP) -- A 20-year-old Huron County woman has died after the snowmobile on which she was riding slammed into a telephone pole.
Radio station WLEW and the Huron Daily Tribune of Bad Axe report Renee Ann Melnik suffered severe head injuries in Friday's crash in Sherman Township, about 90 miles north of Detroit.
The Ubly-area woman died Saturday at a Saginaw hospital. Melnik was operating the second in a group of seven snowmobiles. She hit the pole after driving out of a ditch.
