VASSER -- On a Friday afternoon in downtown Vasser, you would expect to see people having lunch or a drink at happy hour, but business owners are a little worried.  With the Cass River and other area rivers running near or above flood stage, the waters are running fast.  The onlookers are a plenty and the business owners are hoping for something better than an insurance claim.

With pumps running at full steam ahead, the Cass River has crested and will slowly begin to fall, allowing for the draining system outside the levy to work through the weekend to clear downtown of it's mess.

With all the flooding, business owners hope the mess will be cleared quickly so they can get back to work.
