ROSEVILLE (AP) -- A woman charged with second-degree murder in a crash that killed four young people in suburban Detroit will undergo a mental-health exam.
Roseville District Judge Joseph Boedeker approved the request Wednesday by Frances Dingle's lawyer to determine if she is competent to assist in her defense.
Dingle's lawyer also needs to see more reports about the March 16 crash.
A hearing on whether there is enough evidence to continue to trial was delayed to May 15. She's also charged with four counts of driving under the influence causing death.
Police say Dingle's blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit when her van smashed into a car in Roseville, killing three students from Lake Shore High School in St. Clair Shores and a 19-year-old man.
