OAKLAND CO. (AP) -- Oakland County is warning parents to watch for flu-like symptoms and consult with their physicians if their child fall ill after two children died.
The county's Health Division says in a statement that test results are still pending in the Saturday deaths of a 6-year-old Clarkston girl and a 5-year-old Highland boy.
But the division says influenza was believed to have contributed to the girl's death and the boy may have had a respiratory infection compounded by asthma.
There were 43 child flu-associated deaths reported in the United States as of March 28 during the current flu season.
