LANSING (AP) -- Regional unemployment rates rose in all 17 of Michigan's major labor markets in March.
The state report issued Thursday says the lowest regional jobless rate last month was 7.9 percent in Ann Arbor. The highest rate was 18.2 percent in the northeast part of the Lower Peninsula.
Mackinac County's 28 percent unemployment rate was highest among Michigan's 83 counties. Washtenaw, Isabella, Clinton, Kalamazoo and Midland were the only counties with rates below 10 percent.
Regional unemployment rates are not seasonally adjusted. National and state unemployment rates are adjusted to remove seasonal influences such as holidays, climate and production cycles.
Michigan's March seasonally adjusted jobless rate was 12.6 percent, the nation's highest.
