Citizens Republic posts losses

The state’s largest bank based right here in Mid-Michigan posted significant losses in the last quarter.  Citizens Republic Bank, based in Downtown Flint, lost $45.1 million between January and March of this year. 

That is about 39 cents a share according to published reports.  Still, that is better than the $195 million dollar loss in the fourth quarter of last year.  Citizens and Republic banks merged together a couple of years ago.
