CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (AP) — Families of the victims of Continental Connection Flight 3407 have had an opportunity to hear details of the flight's final minutes, and they're saying it's been a difficult day for them.

The twin-engine turboprop crashed into a house five miles short of Buffalo Niagara International Airport in February, killing 50 people.

The National Transportation Safety Board's public hearing was simulcast at locations near Buffalo and Newark, New Jersey, where the flight originated.

It began with an animation re-creating the accident. One woman called the demonstration "stomach-churning."

Another woman says she was "livid" as she heard testimony pointing to the pilot's shortcomings.

The father of one victim traveled to Washington to watch in person. He says whatever he hears won't bring his daughter back, but he imagines she would tell him "don't let this happen to somebody else."
