Votes continued Thursday in Flint for UAW/GM contract ratifications and negotiations.
Here are some highlights from the agreement:
For active workers:
- There will be no more over time
- The cost of living adjustments and performance benefits will be suspended
- There will be changes to Easter Monday and Memorial Day vacation requirements
- All vacation pay must be taken before the end of the year; it cannot be paid in a lump sum in one check
GM is offering the following buyouts:
- For eligible production retirees, GM is offering $20,000 plus a $25,000 car voucher
- For eligible skilled trade retirees, GM is offering $45,000 plus a $25,000 car voucher
- For voluntary quits, GM is offering:
- For workers with 10 years or less - $45, 000 plus a $25,000 car voucher
- For workers with 10 - 20 years - $80,000 plus a $25,000 car voucher
- For workers with more than 20 years - $115,000 plus a $25,000 car voucher
Retirees:
- Eye and Dental benefits will be cancelled as of July 1, 2009
- Medical Prescription copayments will double on both generic and name-brand medications
