(AP) -- The six furlough days being taken by most state employees as a cost-saving move won't affect state campgrounds or the Mackinac Bridge agricultural inspection station.

State officials said Wednesday that fewer Department of Natural Resources staff will be working on those days. But state parks, recreation areas, forest campgrounds and boating access sites will still be open, along with the campground reservation system.

The Department of Agriculture's livestock and plant inspection station on the Mackinac Bridge also will be open on the furlough days of June 19, July 6, July 24, Aug. 21 and Sept. 4.

Workers will be enforcing the state's emerald ash borer quarantine and making sure no animals with bovine tuberculosis cross the bridge.
