(AP) -- VIENNA TOWNSHIP, Michigan - Officials have canceled a mandatory evacuation order around a Michigan fuel facility after a fire there displaced roughly 1,000 residents.
Clio Assistant Fire Chief Kerry Paulson says the order was lifted shortly after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
More than 100 firefighters battled the blaze after a White Oil Co. storage facility in Genesee County caught fire Tuesday evening. Paulson says the fire was mostly out Wednesday.
The evacuation order was for a 2-mile wide radius around the fire.
The Environmental Protection Agency says there are currently no health risks associated with the fire. However, the EPA advises those in the area to keep their windows closed.
Authorities say the fire may have started near an electric meter.
NBC25 was at the news conference. We will post more details as they are available.
