(AP) -- PONTIAC, Mich. - Kid Rock is kicking in to help the cash-strapped Arts, Beats & Eats festival in suburban Detroit.
The rock star says his "Made in Detroit" clothing line will sponsor a stage at the event held annually in Pontiac.
Kid Rock, a Michigan native whose real name is Robert J. Ritchie, says the festival's financial challenges provided the "perfect venue" to show his support of Ford Motor Co., Chrysler LLC and General Motors Co. The three automakers have been given complementary sponsorships.
The Oakland Press says the stage will be named the Kid Rock-Made in Detroit Big Three Stage and serve as a tribute to Detroit-area musicians.
Kid Rock's total contribution will include exhibit space and nearly $20,000.
The festival will be held Sept. 4-7. Admission is $2.
