MIAMI (AP) — The government of Bermuda is calling on residents to secure their boats and to make other storm preparations by tomorrow afternoon.
The island is under a hurricane watch as Hurricane Bill approaches.
The storm is slightly weaker than it was, but its winds are still clocked at near 120 miles an hour. And forecasters warn that the warm Atlantic waters could feed its growth back to Category 4 by tomorrow.
Among the visitors watching the progress of the storm are Bill and Hillary Clinton, who arrived in Bermuda yesterday for a 3- or 4-day getaway.
Warning signs are up at beaches along Bermuda's south shore because of the large swells and dangerous rip currents expected ahead of the storm.
It's expected to pass between Bermuda and the U.S. east coast on Saturday. Forecasters warn that beaches could see extremely dangerous surf and rip currents on one of the final weekends of summer.
