Flint, Michigan --- The Genesee County Road Commission and the City of Flint announced that starting Monday, Aug. 31 at 7 a.m. a section of Genesee Road between Richfield Road and Carpenter Road will be closed to perform repairs to a 72-foot water main. This main services 120,000 people in the greater Flint area.
Genesee Road will be closed at Meadowbrook Lane where the water main crosses Genesee Road. Local traffic will not be allowed to pass through this area. Motorists are urged to use extra caution.
The designated detour route (Richfield Road, Belsay Road and Coldwater Road) will be posted with signs Monday.
This repair is expected to be completed on or before Saturday Sept. 5.
