State Rep. Paul Scott is sponsoring an education task force hearing in Grand Blanc on Sept. 14 to gather grassroots ideas on how best to strengthen Michigan's public education system.
Scott is inviting parents, school officials, teachers, students and concerned citizens to the hearing. The panel, consisting of state lawmakers from across Michigan, is seeking input on how to improve public schools and curriculum.
The hearing takes place from 5:30-7 p.m., Sept. 14 at the Grand Blanc High School Commons, 12500 Holly Road. Everyone is welcome to attend.
"I want to bring fellow lawmakers to Grand Blanc to see the great work our schools are doing and learn how we may be able to improve education as a whole," said Scott, R-Grand Blanc. "It's important for my colleagues to hear from local residents about the biggest problems facing education and, most importantly, what solutions the people of southern Genesee County have to address these problems."
Scott and the panel will take the information gathered from the hearing and issue a report of legislative recommendations
