(AP) -- A union representing faculty members at Oakland University says the tentative agreement it reached with the suburban Detroit school calls for a "minimal economic package."
The deal struck Thursday ends a strike that began Sept. 3.
In a statement released Thursday, the Oakland chapter of the American Association of University Professors says faculty members will receive no salary raise in the first year, 1 percent in the second and a 3 percent raise in the third year, but that last increase is subject to continued negotiation.
The AAUP says the strike "was not about money," but intellectual property rights, health care coverage and allowing faculty to have a say on a range of issues, including class size and the number of classes
