(AP) -- Grand Valley State University says it will work to integrate nanotechnology in its undergraduate science and engineering classes with help from a National Science Foundation grant. Nanotechnology involves structures at the atomic and molecular level that have become accessible because of breakthroughs in microscopes.
Project co-director Lihong Jiao says the grant will help develop a two-course sequence at the Allendale school. One course will cover the fundamentals of nanotechnology, and the other will teach advanced nanosystem engineering.
The grant also will help provide student research opportunities and programs for K-12 students and teachers. The two-year, $200,000 grant comes from the federal stimulusprogram.
