(AP) -- On October 19, 2009, The Humane Society of Genesee County will hold its 20th Annual Dog Walk-A-Thon on the campus of Mott Community College. There is a mile long marked trail that meanders through the beautiful grounds and the nearby neighborhoods, and the "Barker Street Square with vendors offering everything from professional photography sessions to micro-chipping to food. Music will be provided by Key-Lore DJ Services. This year we will also be having our annual Mutt Masquerade along with the Dog Walk-A-Thon. There will be judging for "Grooviest", "Most Amazing Pet Trick", "Most Festive" and "Owner/Pet Look Alike". The event will start at 10 am and go until 2 pm. Dogs are welcome, but not necessary to attend. There will be adoptable dogs available to borrow for a walk around the park and if you fall in love, maybe even to put on hold with the option to adopt. You can also walk for your cat, by filling out one of the paw cut outs to wear while you walk!
There is a $10 registration fee per dog ($15 if you have multiples), but if the pledges collected equal $100.00, the fee will be waived. The registration fee includes a goodie bag for your dog.
