(AP) -- DETROIT - Detroit school officials say a 15-year-old student gave a "hit list" to public safety officers that contained the names of school employees he said he planned to kill.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged the boy Wednesday with creating a disturbance in a school. A hearing was scheduled for later in the day at the county's juvenile detention center.
A district spokeswoman says the student gave the list to officers at Cooley High on Tuesday, saying someone named "Brandon" wrote it. He later acknowledged writing, delivering and signing the list under a false name.
The list reportedly had names of staff members and others.
The incident was discussed Wednesday at a school assembly and letters were given to students to take home.
