Oxford man struck, killed by gravel hauler

(AP) -- OXFORD, Mich. - Police say a 52-year-old Oxford man has been struck and killed by a gravel hauler in a parking lot in Oxford.

The Oxford man was run over Wednesday morning. A 33-year-old from Columbiaville was driving the truck. Both worked at an Oxford trucking company.

The Detroit Free Press and The Oakland Press of Pontiac report the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not immediately released.

Investigators tell The Detroit News alcohol was not a factor in the incident.

The Oakland County sheriff's office and Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating.
