(AP) -- SAGINAW, Mich. (AP) - A Saginaw 16-year-old accused of shooting a 10-year-old girl in the head is being charged as an adult. Prosectors allege that Davontral J. Coleman shot 10-year-old Jewel Lee and fired at others on Sept. 5. The girl returned home three days later after doctors removed a bullet from the left side of her brain.

Coleman was arraigned Tuesday on separate counts of assault with intent to murder Jewel and two others; carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent; and two counts of possessing a firearm while committing a felony.

District Judge Terry L. Clark set a $3 million bond for Coleman and ruled he could remain lodged at the Saginaw County Juvenile Detention Center, despite being charged as an adult. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 22.
