FLINT -- Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton states Fred White, the principal of Northwestern High School, will not face criminal charges after being accused of choking a 16 year old student.

White was put on paid suspension after a student claimed the principal choked him on October 22, 2009.

In a statement, Prosecutor Leyton reports he and other senior assistant prosecutors reviewed the police report, video recording of the incident and related records before reaching the decision to not issue warrants.

In the statement, Prosecutor Leyton says, "I think it is best left to the City of Flint School District to assess the situation.  This is not a matter for the criminal courts."
