A wreath laying ceremony in honor of all veterans paid special tribute to NBC25's Jenny Suniga's grandfather.
The military honored 91-year-old Jose Garza with three bronze stars for his heroic efforts in World War II at a Veteran’s Day event in San Antonio Saturday.
He received them in front of the Alamo after a parade through town.
Mr. Garza enlisted in the military the day before the attacks on Pearl Harbor, then served in the Pacific islands.
More than 1500 people gave their lives in his division alone.
