(AP) -- DETROIT (AP) - The police officer who discovered the body of amissing Macomb County man says he was simply acting on a hunch when he went inside a burned-out house in a drug-infested Detroit neighborhood. Roseville Lt. Ray Blarek says he was working all hours during the week of Matt Landry's disappearance in August. He testified Thursday before a judge ordered two 17-year-olds to stand trial for murder, kidnapping and other charges.
Blarek says he checked alleys, garages, tall weeds and abandoned houses in Detroit's 7 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue area. He says drug dealers were upset because the police presence was hurting sales.
On Aug. 13, Blarek found the young man's body in a house. He says, "We all thought it was Matt."
