Toyota is replacing the gas pedals on three point eight million vehicles.

The Japanese automaker recalled the vehicles to fix problems with sudden acceleration or issues with the pedal becoming stuck in the floor mat.

Toyota is notifying owners on a rolling basis and plans to start replacing the pedals in April.

In the meantime owners should remove their driver side floor mats.

The recall is in response to findings that a stuck gas pedal may be to blame for a crash in California earlier this year that killed four people.
