Mid-Michigan Citizens Bank locations are accepting monetary donations in support of the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan’s annual holiday campaign. Citizens Bank’s Mid-Michigan region represents the greater Flint area and the Great Lakes Bay Region, which includes 46 offices. Donations of cash and checks will be accepted at teller windows from November 30 through December 18, 2009.
Citizens’ Mid-Michigan region president, Ryan Carley, said, “The Food Bank plays a significant role in providing food to the many people who are experiencing hunger in our local communities. Through the efficiency and resources of the food bank, the funds raised through our Citizens Against Hunger program will be multiplied 14 times in terms of food.”
The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan serves 22 counties with a network of 400 partner agencies that include church pantries, soup kitchens and shelters that offer emergency food assistance and programs for children and senior citizens. The Food Bank will distribute over 18 million pounds of food in 2009 and kicked off its annual Holiday Campaign on November 18th to help sustain efforts into 2010. This year’s Holiday Campaign goal is set at $775,000 with multiple community partners including businesses and media outlets.
