SAGINAW -- In a massive sweep, Bay Area Narcotics Enforcement Team investigators just served federal arrest warrants across the Saginaw area.
Investigators confiscated crack cocaine, marijuana and weapons when they arrested numerous alleged drug and weapons dealers.
The street value of the evidence is estimated around $50,000.
Some of the guns are so powerful they can pierce bullet proof vests.
"That type of weapon is a very fast moving weapons, moving somewhere in the neighborhood of 3000 ft, said Det. FLT. Mel Mathews, BAYANET Commander.
Special agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, BAYANET, and Michigan State Police all worked together on this sweep.
So far six suspects are in custody and investigators are searching for another five indicted.
All suspects face five years to life in prison if convicted.
"I think we've taken some dangerous individuals off the street, and I think it makes the streets safer," said Agent George M. Krappmann.
Investigators tell NBC25 they expect several people to be indicted at a later date.
BAYANET wants to remind the public that it depends on tipsters in order to get many criminals off the streets.
