(AP) -- BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (AP) - Comedian and actor Tim Allen is adding a new title to his resume: director. The 56-year-old who spent his formative years in Michigan returned home Thursday night to perform some standup comedy before previewing his directorial debut.
Allen appeared in the Detroit suburb of Birmingham for a screening of his new comedy "Crazy on the Outside." It's part of his "Stand Up and Show It" tour. In each city, Allen performs standup before showing the movie. He tells The Associated Press that directing "was out of sight" and he "really liked it." "Crazy on the Outside" stars Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Ray Liotta, Julie Bowen and Kelsey Grammer and opens Jan. 8.
