Wreaths placed to honor veterans resting at Great Lakes National Cemetery

Folks paid tribute to America’s veterans Saturday across the country and at mid-Michigan's  Great Lakes National Cemetery.

This as they took part in the Wreaths Across America event.

Hundreds gathered at the Holly cemetery to lay over 1,000 personal wreaths on the graves of fallen servicemen and women.

The Michigan Wing - Civil Air Patrol conducted a wreath laying ceremony, placing seven ceremonial wreaths in honor of those who serve in the military.

The specially designated wreaths for the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, and POW/MIA were placed on memorials during a ceremony that was be coordinated simultaneously at over 400 participating locations all across the Country.
