Hurley hospital in Flint is celebrating Hanukkah by lighting the menorah in the hospital lobby.
A local Rabbi says Hanukkah is not only a time for eating holiday specialities and giving gifts, it's a time to spead light to the darkness.
Rabbi Karen Companez also says, "its a holiday really emphasizing the idea of religious freedom and the victory of the few over the many and it's brining light in this time when it's cold and dark outside."
Hanukkah is celebrated in honor of the triumph of the Maccabbees.
