Woman, 37, drove drunk, endangered child

(AP) -- Ferndale authorities say a 37-year-old woman has been charged with driving drunk and endangering her 7-month-old daughter who was in the back seat.

Sharnella Daniels of Detroit was jailed on $3,000 bond following her arraignment Monday in 43rd District Court in Ferndale. Police said they stopped her sports utility vehicle in the Detroit suburb at 2:15 a.m. Monday and discovered an open bottle of tequila.

Daniels faces charges including misdemeanor counts of child endangerment, drunk driving, having open alcohol in her vehicle, and driving with suspensions on her record. Jail officials did not immediately know if she had a lawyer Police say Daniels' blood-alcohol level was 0.14, nearly twice the state's 0.08 minimum for drunken driving.
