(AP) -- Michigan Local Girl Scout cookie addicts can stop worrying about missing their annual Thin Mint fix. Cookie sales will begin Friday right on schedule.
A group of troop leaders from the former Fairwinds Council had considered boycotting cookie sales this year to bring attention to the plight of Camp O'Fairwinds.
The historic 465-acre camp was closed this summer while the newly merged Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan Council decides what to do with its overabundance of camp property throughout the state.
Troop leader Lynn Goss from Lapeer County's Mayfield Township says two meetings with the CEO of (Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan) has not guaranteed the camp will be saved. But there's been enough progress to avoid a cookie boycott.
