(AP) -- Michigan Tech, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, is experimenting with ethanol and snowmobile engines.

Students are finding out how snowmobiles function with ethanol levels of 15% compared to 10-percent, also known as E-10.

The government requires renewable fuel use to increase from 9-billion gallons to 36-billion gallons by 2022.
