Local college coach accused of DUI and marijuana

(AP) -- A MidMichigan college softball coach is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and having marijuana.

43-year-old Everett Roper was hired as the Saginaw Valley State University's head softball coach in 2007.

Thomas Township police say on November 8th Roper drove his vehicle into a ditch.

His lawyer says, Roper denies the charges and will enter a not guilty plea.
